Genre: Comedy/Romance‎‎

Director: Dennis Dugan

Cast: Adam Sandler, Al Pacino, Katie Holmes.

Rating: PG

My third encounter of the Sandler-kind.

We are celebrating twins. And this time around, Adam Sandler pulls double duty as Jack -- a successful Ad-producer, and as Jill -- the lonely twin sister. Jill is only allowed special visits to Jack's home for the holidays, and this visit will be a memorable one!

Jack desperately convinces Jill to pursue a relationship with a very-smitten Al Pacino. Jack’s wife and children are especially happy with Jill's visit and even takes the opportunity to get her onto Internet dating.

Although filled with plenty of laughter, the movie quickly loses its plot, but does manage to share the secrets of twins such as speaking twin, “double-Dutch” and attempting to read each other's minds.

Sandler's portrayal of Jill is dismal and borderlines insensitivity, in an attempt to get audiences to laugh. This creates the right backdrop for Al Pacino to attempt playing hero by unsuccessfully tackling the girl.

Nevertheless, the plot takes a turn when Jack pretends to be Jill for a date with Pacino, causing Pacino to realise how special Jill really is!

As the holidays move from Thanksgiving to Hanukkah and finally approaches the New Year, Jack continues his banter on Jill, despite his family's disapproval. His wife, Erin -- played by Katie Holmes (Mrs.Tom Cruise) -- is constantly on Jill's side, though she is not as stern as you would expect her to be.

Jack and Jill is awkward, especially since Adam Sandler dresses up as a voluptuous woman. Though at many times, you will feel sorry for Jill, there is, alas, a happy ending for her! – by Nevina Kumaresan
